OUR MISSION


Liberty strives to end homelessness in greater New Haven. We offer services to people who live with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, and addiction and we help people achieve permanent housing in the community.






Programs to End Homelessness

PROGRAMS TO END HOMELESSNESS

Liberty Community Services, Inc. provides a range of services aimed at ending homelessness. These include:

Day Program

A drop in center for people who are homeless is available Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The program is located at 210 State Street, New Haven.

An intake is required to use this service. The intake process includes an application and interview, background check and a recent PPD. Intake applications and interviews are conducted Mondays & Wednesdays at 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM and Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Appointments are not necessary but are on a first come, first served basis.

Transitional Housing Program

The LCS Transitional Housing Program is designed to provide a supportive environment for people to strengthen their recovery and ability to live in permanent supportive housing. The New Haven based program serves 16 people in a multi-family setting. Eligibility requirements include, but are not limited to adults who are experiencing:

Permanent Supportive Housing

LCS provides subsidized permanent supportive housing through a range of programs throughout greater New Haven that include the Supportive Living Program, the Independent Living Program, Next Step, Open Door Alliance and Safe Haven. Women’s Program

A program designed to serve women who either are currently or have experienced homelessness is offered Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Activities focus on creativity, wellness, healing trauma, social engagement, relationships, and recovery. An intake application, background check and PPD make up the admissions process.
